Hello, I'm Kitty.

Author, wife, and mother of seven. I was never supposed to end up with a voice worth listening to. This is how I got one anyway.

My story

I was never supposed to make it.

I dropped out of college. I married young and started having babies. By every measure the world keeps, I had counted myself out before I began — no degree, no plan, no permission. I am telling you that first, because I need you to know I am not writing to you from above anything.

Then I failed at nearly everything I tried. A blog, back when everyone had one. A network-marketing thing I would rather not talk about. A business my husband and I built and buried. For years the honest summary of my working life was a list of things that did not work, and I have never once found a clever way to dress that up. It was just true.

And through all of it — through the failures, through a birth that nearly took me and my daughter both, through $1,000,000 in medical debt — I did not let go of the two things I had decided were not negotiable: my faith, and my family. One marriage, one home, held through every bit of it.

I chose those two on purpose, and not because they were easy. I chose them because they were the only things I had found that did not depend on my winning. My faith did not love me more when a business worked or less when it failed. My family did not need me to be impressive — they needed me to stay. Everything else in my life could rise and fall on whether I was succeeding, and most of it did. Those two held, because I decided they would, and then I held them when holding them cost something.

You do not build a life by choosing between the parts of yourself. You build it by refusing to.

The quiet life I have now — the writing, the podcast, the markets I trade before the house wakes — was built on the far side of all of it. Not instead of the family and the faith. On top of them. That is the whole thing I have to give you.

I have not forgotten a single hard part of how I got here, and I would not pretend to you that any of it was easy. Your life will look nothing like mine, and it is not meant to. But the thing underneath is the same for every woman: you do not need the right credentials, or a clean record, or anyone's permission, to build something whole. You only have to decide what you will not give away — and then refuse, through everything, to let it go. That is who I write for. The woman who is still in the middle of it.

Who I write for

You, probably.

You want the whole life — the faith and the ambition, the family and the fire — and you are tired of being told, in a hundred quiet ways, that you have to pick.

You have tried the things. The morning routines, the frameworks, the voices that promised the answer was somewhere inside you. Some of it helped for a week. None of it held. You are not looking for another quick fix. You are looking for something true enough to build a life on.

You are not broken, and you do not need to be rescued. You need someone to tell you the plain thing no one else will: that you were never required to become smaller to be taken seriously, and that the whole of your life is built in the ordinary days no one applauds.

If any of that is you, then you are exactly who I am writing to. Welcome. Stay a while.

What I believe

Five things I have staked a life on. Not slogans — the load-bearing beliefs underneath everything I write.

Nothing is owed to you

No rescue is coming and you’d refuse it anyway. But wanting the whole life is not weakness — it’s honesty.

Work, not luck

Success is caused, not granted. And rest and reverence aren’t laziness — they’re the fuel that makes it last a lifetime.

You author yourself

You are your own material — built inside love and faith and the people who know you, where the real work happens.

Softness is strength

The world confuses hardness for power. Softness held under real weight is the rarer, harder thing.

Discipline is freedom

A full house teaches it fast: you keep your head, you keep your rules, and the outcome tends to take care of itself.

The letter

Something true, every Sunday.

One honest letter a week — on faith, ambition, and the whole of a woman’s life — written to be read in the ten quiet minutes before your week begins. No hype. No manifesting. Just something worth keeping.
